'500 Years of Sailing on the Solent'

Permanent art installation

 

Erected on the Wight link ferry terminal entrance wall, Portsmouth.

The composition depicts 14 drawings of the present day Wight link ferry daily  Solent sails and the ill fated Mary Rose ship which capsized and sunk in the Solent waters 500 years ago.

Unveiled by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan.

 

Accompanied by the Chief Executives of the Wight Link Ferry Company and the Mary Rose Museum in 2004 with costume interpreters from the museum and a present day officer from the Ferry Company.
